Frequently asked questions
How does the duplicate line remover work?
It reads your text line by line and keeps the first copy of each line. Any later line that matches an earlier one is removed, so every line in the result is unique.
Is the comparison case sensitive?
Not by default, so Apple and apple count as duplicates. Turn on Case sensitive to treat them as different lines.
What does Trim spaces do?
It removes spaces at the start and end of each line before comparing, so lines that only differ by extra spaces are treated as duplicates.
Can I see which lines were duplicated?
Yes. Turn on Show only lines that were duplicated to list just the lines that appeared more than once.
Can I sort the result?
Yes. Choose A to Z, Z to A or by length from the Sort menu. The default keeps your original order.
Is there a size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Because everything runs in your browser, very large lists depend on your device, but tens of thousands of lines work smoothly.
